Our lounge is a beautifully decorated and furnished room reflecting the country house atmosphere.

The regency style fireplace with it's fire provides a living warmth on the colder days and the bar provides inner warmth.

Sumptuous carpets, Italian plaster work and carefully chosen decorations blend into a restful ensemble.

The large double glazed bay window takes full advantage of one of the finest views in the North across the lawn to the wooded slopes of Weardale with the Pennines in the background.

The bar meals served in the lounge are renowned for the quality and plentiful plates.

Saturday lunchtime is very popular in the summer with it's fabulous hot and cold buffet. It is very popular with both local and visitors alike.

Morning and afternoon coffee, tea, scones and biscuits are a welcome break for the traveller.
